Becki
Becki graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy and later completed an MSc. She is registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, an HCPC member, and a member of ACPOP, APCP, BSIO and BNOS. She has trained at the prestigious Frazier Rehabilitation Institute in the USA on their paediatric programme. Becki is a highly experienced, skilled, and qualified physiotherapist, specialising in complex care, movement difficulties, and restorative therapeutic exercise across both paediatric and adult services.
She utilises a diverse range of evidence-informed therapeutic practices, focusing on whole-body rehabilitation, pain management, and physiotheraputic movement. Her approach empowers adults, children and their families to achieve their personal and specific physical goals. Her mission is to enable every individual she works with to manage the physical symptoms of living with cancer and those that persist into survivorship regain control of their health through movement that brings joy and allows them to strive for their best selves.
Cancer and its treatments affect multiple bodily systems, often leading to decreased strength, stamina, mobility, pain and functional losses. Pre-rehabilitation and rehabilitation as early as possible, and continuing lifelong, is optimal when considering health outcomes and the minimisation of latent effects. Current evidence suggests that movement, including appropriate exercise, is safe throughout the cancer journey and beyond. Becki is passionate about delivering this in age-appropriate ways that encapsulate holistic management and drives enthusiasm and importantly ownership of living with cancer and beyond.
Going beyond physiotherapy and rehabilitation services, Becki also offers medical acupuncture and scar therapy to help support people impacted by cancer during and after treatment.
