Damian Allegretti

LICENSED ACUPUNCTURIST, chinese medicine herbalist and movement therapist

integrative pain carE and cancer support during and after treatment

Damian

Damian Allegretti is an integrative medicine practitioner with over 10 years of clinical  experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal medicine, and nutritional therapy. His work  combines classical East Asian medical principles with contemporary scientific research to  support patients with complex and chronic health concerns.

At Synthesis Clinic, Damian works as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing acupuncture  and Chinese herbal medicine support alongside standard medical care. His approach is  collaborative and carefully aligned with each patient’s wider treatment plan.

Damian has a particular interest in complex chronic conditions, especially digestive, respiratory,  and dermatological disorders, as well as chronic pain and women’s health. His treatments draw  on acupuncture, herbal medicine, targeted nutritional strategies, manual therapies including Tui  Na, and movement-based rehabilitation where appropriate. Each plan is highly individualised,  with a strong focus on identifying and addressing underlying patterns of imbalance.

He trained at the European School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine  (Barcelona), in collaboration with universities in Shanghai and Nanjing, and has undertaken  further postgraduate study in Applied Channel Theory and advanced manual therapies. His  clinical perspective is also informed by extensive training in movement disciplines, including  yoga, Pilates, Feldenkrais, and Chinese internal martial arts.

Damian’s path into medicine began through personal experience, having overcome childhood  asthma through herbal and nutritional intervention. This continues to shape his belief in treating  root causes and supporting long-term resilience rather than symptom suppression alone.

Alongside his clinical work, Damian serves as an Acupuncture Clinical Supervisor at the  Northern College of Acupuncture and sits on the editorial committee of The Clinician, the  journal of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (UK). He also volunteered for several years  with The Disability Foundation at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (NHS), supporting  patients with complex chronic conditions.

Damian is known for his thorough, thoughtful, and patient-centred approach, ensuring each  person feels heard, supported, and actively involved in their care.
