Dr Angelina
Dr Angelina Thapar is a distinguished physician with almost a decade of clinical experience working across the NHS alongside private medicine. She studied Medicine at the prestigious Imperial College London. Alongside her medical training, she undertook a separate BSc at Imperial College Business School, achieving First Class Honours in Management with Medical Science and being recognised on the Dean’s List for Academic Excellence. She is also a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).
Alongside her conventional medical training, Dr Angelina has undertaken extensive further education in lifestyle medicine and functional medicine. She is a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM) and has undertaken advanced training in lifestyle medicine, as well as completing the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) programme through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Her passion for this area of medicine comes from taking a whole-body approach to health and looking beyond symptoms alone to understand the underlying factors that may be contributing to illness. She believes that the most effective approach to healthcare combines the strengths of conventional medicine with evidence-informed integrative medicine, with a focus on addressing the potential root causes and drivers of disease rather than treating symptoms in isolation.
Dr Angelina is well known for her personalised, compassionate approach. Her care is centred on helping patients build sustainable habits that optimise both their physical and emotional wellbeing, with the ultimate aim of enabling them to live healthier and happier lives. She also has a strong interest in healthcare optimisation, supporting patients who wish to take a proactive and preventative approach to their health, having held multiple private roles specialising in this area.
Integrative cancer care is an area that Dr Angelina is deeply passionate about on both a professional and personal level. Over many years, she has supported numerous patients throughout their cancer journeys, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond, whilst also recognising the significant physical and emotional impact that a cancer diagnosis can have on their families and carers. Dr Angelina has a special interest in supporting patients with breast cancer and gynaecological malignancies.
Dr Angelina also works with our integrative cancer care team to provide multidisciplinary, holistic care plans for her patients, incorporating integrative oncology care alongside other fundamental pillars of health, including nutrition, strength training and physical activity, sleep support, stress management, metabolic health and mental health support.
