Dr Margarita Chacin is a Clinical and Health Psychologist with 20 years of experience working with people affected by cancer and their families across private and public healthcare settings in the UK and internationally. During this time, she has supported children, adolescents and adults through diagnosis, treatment, adjustment, survivorship, palliative care and bereavement.

She has a particular interest in the relationship between psychological and physical health, and in helping people navigate the emotional and psychological impact of chronic illness, pain and other significant health challenges. Her approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative. She believes that every person's experience is unique, and she takes time to understand the whole person, including their values, relationships, life circumstances and the ways in which their physical and psychological health interact.

She draws on evidence-based psychological approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy, alongside existential, humanistic and phenomenological perspectives. She also has a longstanding interest in psychoneuroimmunology and the relationship between mind, body, resilience and health.

Her clinical experience includes specialist work in oncology and chronic pain services, as well as supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and bereavement. She has particular experience helping individuals and families adjust to major changes in health, identity and quality of life, and to find ways of living meaningfully alongside uncertainty or ongoing health difficulties.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Margarita is a Senior Academic Lecturer and clinical supervisor, and remains actively involved in research and professional development. She is passionate about bringing together psychological knowledge, clinical experience and genuine human connection to create a space where people feel understood, supported and empowered to navigate the challenges they are facing.
