Nutrition for Cancer Support

Karolina

Karolina is a BANT-registered Nutritional Therapist and CNHC-registered practitioner with a clinical focus on supporting people diagnosed with breast, gynaecological and blood cancers.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Therapy from the University of West London and has undertaken further training in integrative and functional medicine. Karolina has completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) programme with the Institute for Functional Medicine, as well as the Systems Approach to Cancer training created by Dr Nina Fuller-Shavel, an advanced training in integrative oncology nutrition. Through her work with Dr Nina Fuller-Shavel, she has developed a particular interest in supporting individuals before, during and after cancer treatment. She is committed to continuing to expand her knowledge in the field of integrative oncology with the aim of supporting individuals living with and beyond cancer.

Karolina also has a special interest in the relationship between nutrition; behaviour change and eating disorders. Drawing from her own lived experience of eating disorders and recovery, she has completed the Master Practitioner Diploma with the National Centre for Eating Disorders (UK), as well as additional training in Nutrition for Eating Disorders with Emma Hendrickx at The Eating Clinic (UK).

Karolina takes a personalised and compassionate approach to nutritional therapy, recognising that every individual’s circumstances, history and lifestyle are unique. Her work combines evidence-based nutrition, behaviour change strategies and health coaching to help individuals make sustainable dietary and lifestyle adjustments that support their health and wellbeing. In her work with clients, Karolina aims to simplify the often-complex nutritional information available today, helping individuals better understand how nutrition and lifestyle changes may support them during and after a cancer diagnosis.

Alongside her clinical work, Karolina has spent over 25 years living in India where she managed a yoga retreat centre and studied yoga, meditation and mindfulness. She has practised Ashtanga yoga for nearly three decades and continues to integrate principles of mindfulness and lifestyle medicine into her approach to health.

Karolina currently divides her time between her clinical practice and managing Purple Valley Yoga centres in Goa and Tenerife.

Book Your Nutrition Package

If you would like some further information, you can contact our Clinic Coordinators, Zarish and Raquel, on integrativeoncology@synthesisclinic.co.uk or book a free 15 min discovery call here (please note that this is an explanatory call only and no personalised advice will be provided). The discovery call should only be booked if you are interested in discussing nutrition and lifestyle support in the context of a current or previous cancer diagnosis, we do not cover general nutrition enquiries. Please note that we do supply recipes and meal ideas but we do not provide meal plans.

Please note that our nutrition team are not able to work with integrative doctors outside our clinic, as we aim to keep an aligned and consistent approach. Similarly, if you are under the care of a dietitian in the NHS, we are not usually able to provide joint support. If you have other professionals apart from your oncology team involved in your care, you will need to notify us and discuss this with our clinic coordinator before booking in. It is essential that you are consciously prepared to make some nutrition and lifestyle changes before contacting the clinic and to invest time and effort into this approach with our support, as it is not a quick fix.
