Yoga Therapy: A Personalised Approach Within Integrative Oncology
Cancer treatment frequently leaves significant supportive care gaps in symptom management, physical rehabilitation, and psychological distress. At Synthesis Clinic, our evidence-informed clinical yoga therapy service led by specialist therapist Marcia Mercier is integrated directly into our integrative oncology care plans. Yoga therapy provides personalised input based on individual needs, aiming to alleviate cancer-related fatigue, sleep disturbances, and autonomic nervous system dysregulation, working alongside standard medical care.
Integrative oncology and breast cancer: what UK women told us was missing, and how we help close the gap
Our new paper in Frontiers in Oncology asked 232 UK women with breast cancer about the support they received. Sleep, sexual health, nutrition, exercise and menopause emerged as the areas most often left unaddressed. Here is what we found, and how our multidisciplinary integrative cancer care team works alongside standard oncology care to close those gaps.
