Dr Raj Joshi

Dr. Raj Joshi is an experienced clinician with over 25 years actively working in the NHS in conjunction to working in private medicine.

He is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has been with many people on their cancer journeys, whether from his time spent over several years working in hospital medicine, or through his work as a General Practitioner, and even through family and friends.

Dr. Raj is an integrative medicine doctor, combining his expertise and knowledge from several areas of interest, that include his training in functional medicine, his background in lifestyle medicine having achieved both his UK and International Diploma, his belief in the importance of physical activity having qualified as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, the power of nature in mental wellbeing having worked in a leadership capacity to optimise mental wellbeing and induce positive transformation, and the vital role of resilience having designed and led resilience development programs.

He has a true belief in the holistic approach for the individual – the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects and not just the physical alone. All of these characteristics are important to provide the best healthcare and treatment for the individual with cancer. He is also interested in precision health, and with newer technologies emerging, sees this as an opportunity to personalise the treatment plan for that individual and not use a one box fits all approach.

Dr. Raj has also worked in the media, including working on an expedition that was televised on a mainstream channel that documented the journey of an all women group, challenging themselves on a hike through the Inca Trail in the high-altitude mountains of the Peruvian Andes. The women had been diagnosed with breast cancer and were at various stages of treatment prior to this journey. Dr. Raj was the doctor looking after this amazing group of women. This was done for the charity Breast Cancer Care, raising awareness and funding, in addition to highlighting the powerful message that because one has cancer, it doesn’t mean one can’t live their life, still challenging themselves to continue to develop as a person, improve their resilience to better protect against any future adversity, and to enjoy and get the most out of life.
